Muller wins second set!
Alexandre Muller 1-6 7-6 (9-7) Novak Djokovic
This is fantastic stuff. Alexandre Muller saved six set points during that set and turned around the tie break in order to steal the second set away from Novak Djokovic.
The Centre Court roof is being closed now and Djokovic has walked off court in disbelief at how that set ended.
He’s still the favourite to win this match but will have at least two more sets before he gets it done.
Wonderful from Muller and the crowd certainly appreciated that.

Gauff in trouble
*Dayana Yastremska 7-6 (7-3) 1-0 Coco Gauff
A passionate fightback in the first set doesn’t end in Coco Gauff’s favour as she loses it in a tie break to Ukranian Dayan Yastremska.
The French Open champion now has a lot of work to do to get back into this match and she isn’t playing her best tennis.
Yastremska then compounds the worry as she breaks in the very first game of the second set. Is there another upset on the cards?

Second set goes to tie break
Alexandre Muller 1-6 6-6 Novak Djokovic*
Despite his best efforts, Djokovic can’t take one of the many break points he’s set up and the second set is going to be decided by a tie break.
Muller will be very pleased by that and there’s a definite chance he can win this now.

Djokovic closes in on second set
*Alexandre Muller 1-6 4-5 Novak Djokovic
The No 6 seed blazes through the next game with three aces and just five strokes for a hold of serve to love.
He’s one game away from winning the second set too.

Muller holds!
Alexandre Muller 1-6 4-4 Novak Djokovic*
It’s a turning of the screw for Novak Djokovic. Even at 38-years-old he knows when to turn it on.
The second set is heading towards its conclusion with Muller already having saved seven break points.
With the crowd chanting his name, Djokovic meets Muller’s serve and gets back the return back only for the Frenchman to force him into the net next up.
A fine hold from Muller brings him level again but Djokovic has that glint in his eye. What is to come I wonder?

Yastremska breaks Gauff
Dayana Yastremska 5-2 Coco Gauff*
Now then. The Urkanian takes a positive stride in this first set against the French Open champion and breaks Gauff’s serve with a sublime backhand.
Yastremska then holds her own serve to really pile the pressure on the American who is now serving to stay in the first set.

Jack Draper wins at Wimbledon to start biggest fortnight of his life – as seeds tumble around him
Kieran Jackson at Wimbledon
With the sun setting past teatime on a baking Wimbledon day, and the shade gradually emerging across the court, Britain’s top singles player entered the arena in a primetime slot. Burberry models and social media influencers posed and pouted courtside, eager to show off their prized viewing spot. Only 23 years young, Jack Draper had better get used to this.
Yet as first rounds at Wimbledon go, this was as comfortable as they come. Frankly, Draper could play on this stage for another decade and won’t have an easier match at the All England Club. While world No 4 Alexander Zverev crashed out 200 metres south of the grounds on Centre Court – the 12th men’s seed to be eliminated in the first round here – Draper’s mission against Sebastian Baez on Court 1 was simple: total destruction.

Djokovic holds
*Alexandre Muller 1-6 2-3 Novak Djokovic
A few games come and go with Novak Djokovic still ahead in the set.
No breaks of serve so far so a bit of resistance from Muller which is good to see.
How will the match play out from here?

Pressure on Muller
*Alexandre Muller 1-6 0-1 Novak Djokovic
The Frenchman needs to find a way to throw Djokovic off his game.
He knows this but it’s a thing easier said than done. Muller whips a forehand into the tape and helps Djokovic to deuce.
The Serb then goes to advantage after dinking a half-volley wide of play.
With a break point now to defend, Muller forces a loopy return from Djokovic then smokes a winner past his opponent.
Djokovic won’t let up though.
