Vladimir Putin‘s propagandists have reacted with fury to Britain boosting its defence budget to face the Russian threat.
Kremlin mouthpieces tore into Sir Keir Starmer after he announced a rise in British military spending to 2.5 per cent of gross domestic product by 2027 – which he said amounted to an extra £13.4billion.
Putin cheerleaders have responded by labelling the Prime Minister a ‘miserable wretch’ and accused him of ‘stubbornly turning a blind eye to the growth of immigrant crime‘ in the UK while throwing £6 billion a year at building up the armed forces.
They accused him of ‘sleeping’, and failing to understand that the US no longer wanted a Western military confrontation with Russia, amid growing indifference in Washington to the security situation in Europe.
One raging pundit took aim at Britain, saying it would be a ‘perfect’ target for a Russian nuclear weapons trial and labelling it a ‘country with bad weather and disgusting food.’
Another propagandist, Sergey Mardan, suggested Starmer’s military spending goal was unattainable, calling it ‘cosmic’ and mocking: ‘All that remains is to recruit people.
‘The heirs of Wellington and Nelson have huge problems with personnel,’ he said.
‘Young Englishmen, Welshmen, Scotsmen and even residents of Ulster are not eager to go and knead the mud under a contract with His Majesty.
‘But somewhere we need to recruit people for the “peacekeeping mission” in Ukraine. All hope is on Russia, which will not allow this adventure to take place,’ he declared.

‘Real British patriotism is an eternal war with Russia,’ she posted.
Propagandist Vladimir Solovyov derided the British premier saying: ‘Starmer gave a press conference. Putin’s invasion will not stop at Ukraine’s borders.
‘The only answer to Putin is force, he said, and so he cried: “We are three years late in responding to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. We will station our forces in Ukraine if we get American guarantees. We will host a number of leaders later this week to discuss the situation in Ukraine.”
‘Starmer, you must have been sleeping somewhere. [President] Macron has already hosted the leaders twice, and it didn’t work out.
He again threatened to make Britain a testing ground for Putin’s high-speed underwater nuclear drone, which he claims could sink the UK under a tidal wave.
‘In fact, your island, once again, is perfect for the Poseidon [Russian high-speed underwater nuclear drone] trial….
‘Well, take it easy, you miserable wretch…’
Earlier he conjured an image of Starmer ‘gurgling’ as he is sunk beneath the sea.

Putin cheerleaders have spouted Kremlin propaganda after

Starmer vowed to increase spending ahead of a crunch visit to see Donald Trump later this week
‘Trump says… Stop [the war],’ said the Putin propagandist whose output is choreographed by the Kremlin.
‘Starmer says [here’s another] three billion for the war, that’s all there is.’
The British premier tells Volodymyr Zelensky to ‘go to war’.
‘But you still think what an amazing island [Britain is],’ said Solovyov.
‘Just an amazing island. Perfect. Perfectly positioned for a Poseidon test.
‘Amazing island – by the way, I wonder how long the gurgling of Starmer will be visible on the surface of the water after Poseidon’s blow.
‘I mean, how many bubbles will he have time to release? Well, that’s a philosophical question, I suppose…’
Other pundits seized on opposition to the cuts on overseas aid, highlighting objections from Labour MP Rachael Maskell.

And it was welcomed by the US, with defence secretary Pete Hegseth saying it was ‘a strong step from an enduring partner’.
Militarist Telegram channel said: ‘The money will be allocated from the British international aid budget, which is already angering some on the left.’
The uplift will be paid for by cutting to foreign aid budget, but Sir Keir defended the move saying that the defence cash would boost ‘British jobs, skills and investment’.
In a speech last night, Keir Starmer warned that Putin must be stopped in Ukraine to protect the rest of Europe.
The Prime Minister’s pledge to increase the UK’s defence spending came ahead of a crunch visit to see Donald Trump later this week.
The premier said it amounted to the ‘biggest sustained increase since the end of the Cold War’, and will rise to 3 per cent ‘in the next Parliament’, after 2029.
