The South African Football Association Ekurhuleni Women’s Regional League game kept the crowd entertained. The PCF Ladies scored five goals in the first half, playing tactically and trading the ball with ease and good communication. Their coach, Sello Bottoman, said he was happy with how the team had played.
“We have not lost a game in the league, meaning we are on the right track. Our communication was top tier. We maintained the same energy we started the game with. Our opponents tried to get to us, but we capitalised on their weaknesses and inability to communicate as a team,” he said.
Bottoman added that they would continue to train hard during practice to maintain form. The game ended with a score of 9-0.

Albertho Girls Football Academy’s Joyce ‘Sjava’ Ndlovu said she played the game with insufficient players because many of her players were attending classes, and some were sick.
“I believe the game would have panned out differently if I had played with all my players. The game lacked a lot of things, one being communication, because the team players did not gel with one another.
“They did not play with enthusiasm or create goal-scoring opportunities. They played as individuals, not as a team. This affected the game,” mentioned Ndlovu.
Ndlovu said some players could not kick the ball as expected, but was grateful the game played out, saving her from a walkover.
“I am mostly grateful that the league reopened its window period, enabling me to register more players to participate with me in the league. Over and above everything, I am grateful that I will still get a chance to play against Bottoman’s team again and redeem my team’s name,” she said.
